ECOLUCERNA´S INTERNAL POLICY
All guests staying at Ecolucerna Lodge Tambopata are subject to these regulations, which are considered a binding contract that must
be fulfilled.
It should be also an advise for reservation process in terms to clarify doubs about our special location and conditions for rainforest operation.
Any failure to comply will result in the management reserving the right of admission and to refuse service.
♻️ FOR ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES
- CHECK-IN: Check-in by boat is from 11:30 am to 1:20 pm for all regular rates.
Earlier arrivals will be picked up at the airport or bus terminal as per protocol, taken to the center, and will have free time until the final check-in time, which will be communicated upon initial contact. - CHECK-OUT: The canoe departs for check-out at 8:00am from Ecolucerna, ending the service by 10:00 am in the city, at the airport, bus
terminal, or any hotel into the city. Only programs which includes Macaws finish at 15:30hrs
Arrivals or departures outside of regular hours incur an additional charge and are subject to availability and weather conditions (USD
120 per boat/One way).
It is very important to know that the only way to reach Ecolucerna and partner hotels is by river with captains who know the exact
location of the lodges. There is NO public transportation or access by car.
♻️ DISTANCE: A 1 hour 20 minute canoe trip from Puerto Maldonado. km26 of Madre de Dios River in the Tambopata National Reserve.
♻️ REGISTRATION: All guests must register before arrival. Please send complete registration documents to the Maritime Control and
the police. For registration into regular activity in the National Reserve system.
♻️ WEATHER CONDITIONS: If weather conditions pose a risk to human life, the scheduled activities will be changed by the manager
or guide to other viable options. These reasons may include storms, wind, water on the trails, danger in the river due to floating
trees during the high rainy season, torrential rains, etc. This point does not imply refunds or renegotiation as it is not beyond the
control of the administration. Safety first!
♻️ CLEANING SERVICE: As part of our sustainability plan, guests have the option to use the daily clearance of the cabin or not. Please
inform your guide of this final decision during the safety briefing upon arrival.
♻️ TOWELS & LINEN: We are eco-friendly; please help us conserve water. Hang them up or ask a staff member for a replacement. All linens are laundered in town. Please be careful and avoid staining; otherwise, you will be charged extra for special treatment.
♻️ FOOD: Food is not allowed in the rooms. The hotel may require its removal, as it attracts rodents and insects to the cabins and
causes discomfort.
WATER: We make our own, you may use in the shower/sinnk, but not drink it. Mineral water is available only at the coffe station
♻️ ELECTRICITY: We are self-sufficient. We generate energy using solar panels [Lighting hours: 7:00 – 21:00 Hrs]. These panels have
limited capacity. If you use high-voltage appliances, please ask the manager if it is possible to use them. You will find outlets in
cabins and common areas.
♻️ PAYMENTS: Available on the website, WhatsApp, customer service channels, wire transfers, or remote payments via link. Directly
at the Lodge, only CASH (Soles or Dollars) is accepted, as card payments may be interrupted by intermittent satellite internet.
♻️ RIGHT OF ADMISSION: The hotel reserves the right of admission in specific situations that may put in danger the operations, the
life of fellow travelers, or our staff. Please adhere to the hotel’s rules and guidelines during your stay and throughout your trip.
♻️ SMOKING: Due to the high risk in the area and the materials used in the cabins, smoking is strictly prohibited in the rooms.
An specific smoking area with an ashtray is available near the dining room.
♻️ SILENCE HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
♻️ DAMAGE: Guests are solely responsible for any damage caused to hotel property and must pay for its repair.
♻️ RATES – INCLUSIONS
PACKAGES: Complete packages are only available through the website, direct chat channels, social media, authorized agents, and
partners. They are based on group departures with predetermined schedules according to the program, subject to change only at
the discretion of the guide in charge.
♻️ ALL INCLUSIVE: packages from channels such as Booking.com, Expedia, or any OTAs include a select list of activities at the lodge,
distributed according to interests, with a maximum of 01 activity per day. These packages do NOT include Lake Sandoval or
Macaws.
♻️ BASIC: Rates from OTAs, offering only lodging and breakfast, MUST complete the booking process to verify mandatory additional
items such as meals and transfers, and/or extras according to interests. Otherwise, Ecolucerna reserves the right of admission, as it
is not permitted to negotiate any package or plan directly at the ecolodge.
♻️ S’EJA NATIVE FAMILY: Please note that native families are NOT part of our staff. Visits are only accepted with a minimum of 4 people, or by paying the equivalent of 4 people if there are fewer.
♻️ ASSOCIATED SHELTER: This refuge is used to complement programs that include MACAWS CLAY LICK. A minimum stay of 3
nights is required. The operation covers two opposite sides of the Tambopata National Reserve, so we must spend one night in a
hotel in town or in an associated refuge near the Chunchos clay lick. These establishments undergo rigorous quality control and are of the same category as Ecolucerna.
